The series follows the adventures of Good Luck, Funshine, Cheer, Grumpy, and Share Bear as they embark from Care-A-Lot into the Silver Lining, a strange world neighbored by the Whiffles—innocently happy creatures that plant seeds to keep the magical land growing. The Care Bears spread caring and sharing while relying on friendship, courage, and belly badge power. Their ego-driven nemesis Bluster and his Bad Crowd try to stop them, aiming to turn the Silver Lining into Blusterland. The Care Bears receive help from Bedtime, Tenderheart, and Wish Bear via the Caring Tower, and are accompanied by Dibble the Whiffle.

Reader's Guide

Care Bears: Unlock the Magic represents the sixth television series in the Care Bears franchise and marked the first time the Care Bears were sent on the road, exploring new areas around Care-A-Lot. The series was co-commissioned by Turner and Tiny Pop, first broadcast in the United States and the United Kingdom. It later aired on the Cartoonito block beginning September 19, 2021, and on HBO Max since 2021. On May 20, 2022, six new specials were ordered for Cartoonito and HBO Max. The series was co-produced by Cloudco Entertainment and Copernicus Studios, with additional animation by Toon City. A companion series of music videos, Care Bears: Unlock the Music, was released on YouTube and distributed globally by Moonbug Entertainment.
